REBATEN 97% is made from stevia (stevia rebaudiana), a naturally sweet plant which originates from Paraguay and which is currently mostly cultivated in South America and Asia.
REBATEN 97% sweetener: Stevia extract - Rebaudioside A
The Stevia plant leaf contains a number of sweet compounds called steviol glucosides, including Rebaudioside A (Reb A), the sweetest and best tasting compound. Reb A also has exceptional technical properties, such as high stability and excellent tolerance to heat. It is authorised by the French authorities, according to strict criteria.
During production, Stevia leaves are first picked, then dried, and reduced to powder. The powder then goes through a purification process. The objective is to obtain 97% of Rebaudioside A, as determined by the French regulations that authorise its use as a food sweetener.
